German Bioscience Company Opening St. Louis Facility, Adding 75 Jobs

KWS Saat AG, a German seed company, is moving its North American research facility to Bio-Research & Development Growth Park in St. Louis County and is bringing 75 jobs with the move.

The company had more than $1.4 billion in sales in 2013 and competes with industry players such as Monsanto Co. and DuPoint Pioneer. The company’s president said St. Louis’ critical mass of plant scientists, along with a trained workforce and core facilities, set the city apart from three other potential locations.
