Pittsburgh Media Company To Buy KC Radio Stations

Steel City Media has an agreement to buy four radio stations in the Kansas City market from Wilks Broadcast Group, and could parlay the purchase into a wider range of programming with high-definition broadcasting. The stations are Country 94.1 (KFKF-FM), Q104 (KBEQ-FM), Mix 93.3 (KMXV-FM) and KC102.1 (KCKC-FM).

The vice president of Steel City Media said the stations will maintain their present formats and employees and continue to operate out of their present studios in Kansas City. Steel City Media is a family owned company that owns two radio stations in Pittsburgh and provides publishing, broadcasting and Internet services.
