Sprint has reached agreements with 12 rural and regional network carriers to provide low-cost access its 4G LTE network, the company announced in a press release.

The Rural Roaming Preferred Program, which includes  the 12 carriers in the agreement, will provide coverage to 34 million people. The Overland Park, Kan.-based company said the agreements will accelerate the spread of the 4G LTE network in places where building such a network would otherwise be extremely expensive. The Rural Roaming Preferred Program also gives customers the ability to roam on regional and rural carriers’ networks.
