Wash U. Solar Energy Center Gets Millions In Funding

A Washington University-based research center seeking better ways to collect and use solar energy has received $14.4 million in federal funding. The Photosynthetic Antenna Research Center, which is led by Washington University professor Bob Blankenship, has received a second round of funding from the Department of Energy in the form of a $3.6 million annual award for four years.

Initially, PARC was seeking to increase the efficiency of light harvesting antennas. Now the scientists plan to also begin looking at improving energy delivery.
