A partnership between Korte Co. and MACNAK Construction won a contract last week to design and build a three-story, 240-person dormitory at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

The Army Corps. of Engineers, Los Angeles District awarded the $30 million project, which calls for an estimated 85,250-square-foot facility containing 60 four-bedroom units, according to a release. The project, which is expected to meet LEED Silver certification, will also include recreation areas, landscaping, parking and utilities.

St. Louis-based general contractor Korte’s joint venture with Lakewood, Wash.-based MACNAK Construction LLC specializes in designing, building and managing construction.

Korte is among the largest private companies in the St. Louis region and manages more than $200 million in average annual construction volume.

The company reported $106.4 million in revenue for 2013, a 28.3 percent decrease from the previous year caused by a decrease in federal government contracts.
