Stock in Isle of Capri shot up this month as gaming industry analysts speculated the Creve Coeur-based casino company is trying to sell itself. The surge continued after Reuters, citing anonymous sources, reported that Isle was in talks to sell out to Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., an owner of casino real estate properties.
A Deutsche Bank analyst said a straight sale of Isle was the most likely scenario, though a sale leaseback of its real estate properties was a possibility, Bloomberg News reported.
Isle is a regional gaming company with 15 casino properties — operating under the Isle Casino, Isle of Capri Casino and Lady Luck Casino brands — in seven states. Its Missouri casinos are in Boonville, Cape Girardeau, Caruthersville and Kansas City.
