The world’s tallest water slide, Verrückt, opened Thursday at the Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas City, Kan. The slide, which had seen its debut delayed in recent weeks, attracted riders from all over the country. The park created a reservation system to help deal with high demand for the slide.
Verrückt means “insane” in German. The slide stands 168 feet and seven inches tall, and riders reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour descending the slide in a raft.
