Missouri explains computer problems, health insurance application backlog

Computer software problems prevented the smooth exchange of data when state workers in Missouri began to process applications from HealthCare.gov, the online health insurance marketplace operated by the federal government, the head of Missouri’s Medicaid program said. Testing of the state’s system fixes will begin in August, he said in a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
