Sporting Club CEO Robb Heineman is set to make a “major announcement” tonight in partnership with Wyandotte County and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, the club said in a press release.

The club didn’t share specifics about the announcement, but a recent paper trail suggests it may be about a U.S. Soccer National Training and Coaching Development Center. Sporting Club and U.S. Soccer said last year they were exploring the possibility of putting such a facility in Wyandotte County.

Earlier this month, Wyandotte County submitted a proposal to its planning commission for a $65 million facility to open in 2015. That project would cover a 100,000 square feet and include seven outdoor soccer fields and one indoor field. The project also called for retail and restaurant space, an extended stay hotel and a plaza for nine car dealerships.

The club will make its announcement at 6 p.m., before Sporting Kansas City’s match against Manchester City.
