Nixon calls for investigation of UMKC business school rankings

In a letter to the University of Missouri Board of Curators, Gov. Jay Nixon called for an investigation into rankings pertaining to the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The review comes in the wake of a Kansas City Star investigation questioning the validity of rankings such as a 2011 ranking from the Journal of Product Innovation Management that put UMKC in the world’s top spot for innovation management research.

The investigation revealed exaggerations and misrepresentations designed to boost the school’s image.
