Advocates pushing for right to review health insurance rates

In many states, health insurance providers are disclosing what they plan to charge for coverage in 2015. That’s not happening in Missouri.

Although many states have authorities that review insurance rates before they’re posted, Missouri lacks that sort of authority. The Show-Me State is one of the only states that doesn’t have the ability to review health insurance rates. And, amid renewed interest in local authority over health insurance stemming from the Affordable Care Act, advocates are calling for that to change.
