Three of the five largest homebuilders in the St. Louis area have acquired 58 acres in Creve Coeur for a residential development they say will be worth $60 million when completed.

McKelvey Homes, Payne Family Homes and Consort Homes say the new community, called The Villages of WillowBrooke, will be the largest new home community in west St. Louis County. The group purchased the land from the Jewish Community Center. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Plans for the development call for 148 homes ranging in size from 1,627 square feet to 4,015 square feet. Prices for the homes will start around $250,000.
