St. Louis-area data analytics firms Sherpa Analytics and evolve24 plan to merge under the evolve24 name, the companies announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fenton-based evolve24 is part of Maritz Research, which bought the company in October 2010. Under the new deal, evolve24 will become a separate legal entity with Maritz Holdings retaining an ownership interest in the combined company.

The new firm, which will have about 50 employees, will make its headquarters in St. Louis and have additional offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
