AMC to upgrade more movie theaters

AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc., based in Leawood, Kan., said it will spend $39 million more than initially planned on its “customer experience initiatives” at movie theaters —more reclining seats, bars and Imax screens — after better-than-expected operating results at previously remodeled theaters. AMC has an ongoing program to install upgraded light and sound systems in its theaters and had announced a $600 million reseating investment in December.
