Aegion’s new CEO announces cost-saving realignment

Aegion Corp., an industrial piping and infrastructure company based in Chesterfield, named Charles “Chuck” Gordon CEO and announced it will realign its businesses into three platforms with unique leadership teams.

Brooks, who took over as interim CEO in May after Joseph Burgess left the company, said the restructuring would cost $15 million to $18 million, and 150 to 170 full-time positions will be eliminated out of Aegion’s 6,000 employees worldwide. The realignment will save $8 million to $11 million annually, Gordon said in a statement.
