Female board directors rare in KC, advocacy group finds

On 58 top public and private corporate boards in the Kansas City area, just 12.2 percent of the directors are women, a networking and advocacy organization determined. Central Exchange said that’s a gain from 10.4 percent a year ago, but it could reflect improved data collection as the group ramps up its Win|Win program to encourage Kansas City area businesses to add more women to their leadership ranks. Win|Win researchers reported that there are 73 women in c-suite roles in the 58 organizations studied.
