St. Louis energy companies saw their stocks drop Thursday as The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 334 points, the biggest drop since June 2013.
Arch Coal Inc. dropped more than 7 percent, to $1.54 per share. Peabody Energy Corp. dropped more than 9 percent, to $10.24 per share. Ameren Corp. was down more than 2 percent, to $39.04 per share.
By the end of the day, the Dow had lost 334.97 points, or 2 percent, to 16,659.25, as a decline in energy stocks and worries about the global economy sent investors fleeing out of the market.
