Commission claims savings in new Missouri Lottery contract

The Missouri Lottery Commission signed a $16.1 million-a-year contract with GTECH Corp. to handle the lottery’s draw games and other computer gaming services for the next seven years. Officials said the lottery would save $4.9 million over the life of the contract, compared to the current agreement, which is also with GTECH.

Instead of receiving 4.4051 percent of sales as its fee, the Providence, R.I.-based company will receive 4.222 percent, the lottery said. GTECH won the current contract to operate the games in 2005.
