St. Louis casinos continue downward trend

The St. Louis area’s six casinos saw a collective 5.7 percent revenue drop in September. The drop was as little as 0.2 percent at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles and as big as 12.9 percent at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, according to state gaming regulators.

Across the state, nine of 13 casinos reported losses compared to September 2013.

The numbers in Missouri are consistent with the trend nationwide: Although Las Vegas casinos have rebounded from the recession, most other gaming markets continue to struggle.
