Sprint earnings call to offer look at changes under CEO Claure

For the first time since he took over as CEO of Sprint Corp. in August, Marcelo Claure will face the scrutiny of an earnings call today.

Claure has ushered in a whirlwind of strategy changes, price cuts and layoffs in his first three months at the helm of the Overland Park, Kan.-based telecom company, but he has mostly avoided the public eye. Now, Sprint’s third-quarter conference call will allow analysts to question the new CEO.

Analysts expect Sprint’s report to show continued subscriber losses through September. Sprint also will report whether it was able to post back-to-back profitable quarters after earning $23 million on $8.8 billion in revenues in the second quarter.
