Hacker group Anonymous strikes Ferguson officials

Days after 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, and shortly after protests and riots broke out as a response, hacker group Anonymous began targeting Ferguson police and other city officials.

The group posted personal data of the parents of Ferguson Mayor James Knowless III and used funds from his father’s personal account to send $16,000 in bank checks to an address in Chicago.

Anonymous denies sending the checks, but it openly confirms it posted personal and private information of police officers, judges and other officials.
