Nestle Purina president to become company’s CEO

Joseph R. Sivewright, president of Nestlé Purina PetCare, will become the company’s chief executive officer on Jan. 1, replacing W. Patrick McGinnis at the helm of the St. Louis-based pet food division of Swiss giant Nestle.

McGinnis, who will become non-executive chairman of the company, has spent more than 42 years there, joining Ralston Purina in the corporate management training program.

He is credited with playing a key role in Nestle’s 2001 acquisition of Ralston Purina, helping combine the two organizations.
