Governor asks attorney, former A-B exec to help keep Rams in St. Louis

Gov. Jay Nixon has picked former Anheuser-Busch President Dave Peacock and Clayton attorney Bob Blitz to lead an effort to keep the Rams in St. Louis.

The football team has been rumored to be a prime candidate to relocate to Los Angeles, the largest U.S. market without an NFL team and the Rams’ home for decades until they moved to St. Louis before the 1995 season.

Nixon said Peacock and Blitz, of Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch, will have 60 days to prepare a briefing for him. The Rams have a Jan. 28 deadline for informing the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, which owns and operates the Edward Jones Dome, whether they’ll move to a year-to-year lease.
