Chiefs’ Hunt: London game meant to help KC get Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs announced last week they would voluntarily surrender a 2015 home game to play the Detroit Lions in London. Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said Sunday that the move is meant to bring the Super Bowl to Kansas City.

Hunt said that in a recently amended 2006 resolution, the NFL said that teams wanting to host a Super Bowl must host an overseas game. He hopes that the Chiefs’ London trip will satisfy this requirement for the next four to five years.
