Tech firm The Nerdery to add 100 jobs in downtown KC

The Nerdery, a Minneapolis-based tech company, plans to add 100 jobs and make a $4.3 million capital investment in downtown Kansas City over the next five years, the company announced Wednesday.

The Nerdery established a Kansas City office in 2012 and currently employs 33 people in the area. The firm, which develops interactive technology for different platforms for its clients, has worked with area companies including Hallmark and Cerner.

The company can qualify for $2.28 million in tax credits and $90,000 in training funds if it meets specific job creation and investment criteria, a spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Economic Development said.
