Sprint Corp.’s recent round of layoffs eliminated 910 jobs at the company’s Overland Park, Kan., headquarters during October and November. That’s about 54 percent of the 1,700 jobs that were cut companywide during that span.
The telecom company disclosed that information to Kansas officials in a report required under federal law for companies making mass layoffs.
Sprint plans to cut 2,000 more jobs companywide through a combination of buyouts and layoffs, if needed. That will boost job cuts since the start of October to 3,700, as part of a plan to slash costs by more than $1.5 billion.
