Overland Park golf course redevelopment expected to create 20,000 jobs

A $2.7 billion plan to redevelop the Brookridge Golf & Fitness Club in Overland Park, Kan., could potentially create as many as 20,000 new jobs in the area when completed, according to the company behind the plan. That would equal 4,000 more jobs than created by Cerner’s in-progress Three Trails campus development.

Overland Park Development Co. I LLC, led by Curtin Property Co. CEO Chris Curtin, bought the golf course for $17.55 million earlier this year and plans to redevelop the site over 15 years as a tourism and retail space. Plans include a 3,000-seat amphitheater, a retail village, Class A office space, residences and hotels.
