Brown Shoe Co. sold its internet retailing company, Shoes.com, to Vancouver-based SHOEme, the company announced Monday. Terms of the sale weren’t disclosed.
SHOEme is the parent company of online footwear retailers OnlineShoes.com and SHOEme.ca, both of which were bought in July by Hardy Capital Partners of Vancouver.
Shoes.com, which was founded in 1999 and was part of Brown’s specialty retail segment, had net sales of $63.2 million in fiscal 2013, down 9.7 percent from fiscal 2012. Under Brown, Shoes.com sold footwear and accessories for women, men and children, including footwear purchased from third-party suppliers and Brown.
