Some St. Louis Family Dollar stores ask customers to remove hoods

Some Family Dollar stores in the St. Louis area have banned customers from wearing hoods inside stores, in what the discount retail chain claims is an effort to address a recent spike in crime.

Paper signs were posted outside some stores, reading “All Customers: Please remove hoods before entering Family Dollar,” according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

While some customers said they understand the reasoning behind the signs, others were outraged.
