HOK celebrated its return to Kansas City on Tuesday, as the St. Louis-based architecture firm completed its acquisition of Kansas City-based firm 360 Architecture.
With the deal, HOK gains about 200 employees in Kansas City and beefs up its presence in the sports and entertainment business. HOK previously had a Kansas City office specializing in sports architecture, but it spun that off as Populous in 2008.
The deal for 360, which was first announced in August, was initially expected to close by the end of October. The acquisition gives HOK, which employs about 1,800 globally, about 340 employees in Missouri.
