Gigabit City Summit showcases KC’s high-speed Internet efforts

Business and civic leaders from across the country converged on Kansas City this week to learn about the city’s experiences with gigabit Internet access. Full days of programming Tuesday and Wednesday, including a webcast address from President Barack Obama about Internet connectivity, were designed to show visiting delegations how Kansas City has leveraged its access to ultra-high-speed Internet since Google Fiber arrived in town.

Visiting delegations said they would use Kansas City as a model for leveraging gigabit Internet, emphasizing the collaboration among local groups and the spark Google Fiber has provided for local entrepreneurship.
