Anheuser-Busch buying Seattle brewery Elysian

Anheuser-Busch will acquire Seattle craft brewer Elysian Brewing Co., part of an ongoing effort by the St. Louis-based subsidiary of Anheuser-Bush InBev to make up for lagging sales of its flagship brands by purchasing smaller craft breweries.
A-B will acquire Elysian’s Airport Way brewery in Seattle and four other brewhubs. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of the first quarter, were not announced.
Elysian, founded in 1995, has distribution in 11 states, plus Canada, Australia and Japan. The company sold more than 50,000 barrels of beer in 2014. Elysian’s Immortal IPA accounts for more than a quarter of its total sales volume.
