Redevelopers of a 63-acre swath of land in Overland Park, Kan., have unveiled plans to turn the area’s aging shopping centers into a mixed-use project featuring 500,000 square feet of restaurants, retail and entertainment space; 56,000 square feet of offices; and 450 luxury apartments.
Kansas City’s Lane4 Property Group is leading the project in suburban Kansas City, in tandem with the Kroenke Group, the Columbia-based company owned by billionaire Stan Kroenke.
The property, which is located at one of the busiest intersections in the Kansas City metro area, will be split into two main projects. One will feature a village-like setting with restaurants, stores and public gathering space. The other will accommodate larger retailers plus office space and apartments.
