Monsanto responds as cyber threats to ag sector increase

As more farms apply data collecting technology to improve yields and hackers increasingly target the farm sector, cybersecurity issues are drawing increased attention from agricultural companies like Monsanto Co.

Robert Fraley, the chief technology officer for Creve Coeur-based Monsanto, said that the company is working with government and cybersecurity experts to improve its security and to be “as protective of our data and our farmers’ data as we can be.”

Monsanto was hit by a security breach of some customer and employee data last May.
