Back from Cuba, McCaskill says ending embargo would boost Missouri jobs

Back from a trip to Cuba, Sen. Claire McCaskill said ending the U.S. embargo against the island nation would bolster Missouri agriculture and help the Cuban people.

McCaskill, a Missouri Democrat, joined other Senate Democrats last week in visiting with Cuban government officials, citizens, small business owners and others.

She has backed the Freedom to Export to Cuba Act — bipartisan legislation that would effectively end the embargo. She says the bill would help create jobs in the Missouri farming and ranching industry, and that it would strip the Castro regime of a major excuse for what ills the country.
