Bayer HealthCare said it plans to sell some of its facilities in St. Joseph, along with several of the farm animal brands it produces there.

The company, which employs about 135 people in St. Joseph, said the sale does not include two dog and cat dermatology brands or a distribution center in St. Joseph.

Production of the dermatology brands will move to Shawnee, Kan., the headquarters of Bayer’s animal health division, where Bayer has about 540 employees.

The company said the divestment was not related to employee performance and that it would have more information on the process at a later date.
