St. Louis barbecue joint Sugarfire, one of the most talked about restaurants of its kind in the city, will open its fourth location next to the National Blues Museum in the Mercantile Exchange (MX) district downtown. The new location is projected to open September 1.

Amos Harris, principal at Spinnaker Real Estate Partners, which owns the property, said renovation of the currently vacant building will cost about $1 million.

Sugarfire joins a handful of new restaurants moving into the district, including Niche Food Group owner Gerard Craft’s fast-casual concept Porano Pasta + Gelato and two other fast-casual restaurants, Crazy Bowls & Wraps and Tazé Mediterranean Street Food.
