$65 million apartment and retail project coming to KC riverfront

A $65 million mixed-use development featuring 480,000 square feet of new buildings is set to open along the Missouri River in Kansas City in 2016.

Construction on the project, which will feature 425 high-end apartments, 12,500 square feet of retail space and parking, is expected to begin this summer.

Indianapolis-based Flaherty & Collins Properties is developing the project, located just south of the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park. MW Builders Inc., which is part of Overland Park, Kan.-based MMC Corp., is handling construction work.
