Weekend website competition to help five KC nonprofits

Five nonprofit organizations from the Kansas City area will get a hand from volunteers in revamping their websites through this year’s Nerdery Overnight Website Challenge.

The event, held May 2 and 3, pairs teams of volunteers with nonprofit organizations for a weekend-long website blitz. The Nerdery, a Minneapolis tech firm that announced in November it was expanding its Kansas City presence, is holding similar events in Minneapolis and Chicago.

The local nonprofits that will participate are:

  • Community Housing of Wyandotte County
  • Phoenix Family
  • Seriously Playful
  • The Lean Lab
  • Urban Ranger Corps

Judges will announce awards for the teams’ work on May 25.
