Schnuck Markets Inc. plans to start construction this summer on a new $100 million distribution center in north St. Louis County, company officials said Thursday.
The St. Louis-based grocery store chain said the 915,000-square-foot facility would employ about 400 people. If it meets job creation and other requirements, the facility would be eligible for up to $3.7 million in incentives through the Missouri Works Program.
The new facility would operate in tandem with Schnuck Markets’ 570,000-square-foot distribution facility in Bridgeton. That complex, built in 1971, has gone through several expansions to accommodate growth.
