Anheuser-Busch InBev to inject $1.5 billion into US operations

Anheuser-Busch InBev plans to increase spending on its U.S. operations by $1.5 billion over the next three years, including an investment of $162 million in the St. Louis area, where the Belgian brewer has its American headquarters and largest brewery.

Planned investments by the world’s largest brewer include $850 million for brewery and packaging expansion; $720 million for increasing efficiency at existing facilities; and $220 million for product development.

The announcement follows A-B InBev’s acquisition of several U.S. craft brewers over the last 18 months.
