Syngenta execs to address shareholder concerns over Monsanto rejection

Syngenta AG executives are planning meetings with investors in the U.S. and Europe as the Swiss agrochemical company faces complaints from shareholders over its rejection of a pair of $45 billion buyout offers from Creve Coeur-based rival Monsanto.

Syngenta CEO Michael Mack and CFO John Ramsay will hold meetings after the company reports its quarterly earnings on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reports.

A top five Syngenta shareholder complained to company management that it didn’t take Monsanto’s offer to investors before rejecting it. Company executives have said offers from Monsanto, the world’s largest seed maker, undervalued the Swiss company and were fraught with risks.
