In earnings call, Syngenta continues to resist Monsanto bid

Syngenta touted a product pipeline that extends until the end of the decade as the company continued to resist pressure from Monsanto, which has twice made $45 billion buyout offers for the Swiss company in recent months. Syngenta has rejected the bids, citing concerns about regulatory approval and saying the offers were too low considering the company’s pipeline of products.

Syngenta posted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of $2 billion for the first half of the year, exceeding analysts’ expectations of $1.91 billion.
