MU fundraising campaign aims to bring in $1.3 billion

The University of Missouri on Thursday announced a $1.3 billion goal for its comprehensive fundraising campaign, making it the largest funding effort the university has ever undertaken.

Funds from the campaign will be focused on three things: increasing MU’s endowment, developing signature centers and institutes at the school and constructing new academic buildings.

The university has raised about $650 million toward the $1.3 billion goal during a three-year silent portion of the campaign. On Thursday, the school announced a $25 million endowment from the Kinder Foundation, kicking off the public phase of the fundraising effort.
