Google Inc. has acquired Divshot, a Kansas City-born tech startup.

Divshot, a front-end web hosting service that features a drag-and-drop interface builder for web applications, will join Google’s Firebase, a developer-focused app development platform.

Divshot co-founder and CEO Michael Bleigh said in a blog that as part of the acquisition, Divshot will cease its existing products and services on Dec. 14.

Divshot was hatched at Kansas City Startup Weekend in 2012 and relocated to Los Angeles later that year.
