Crown Center Redevelopment Corp. president retiring after 20 years

Bill Lucas, the president of Crown Center Redevelopment Corp., will retire at the end of the year after running the organization for 20 years.

Stacey Paine, a vice president of finance at Hallmark, will replace Lucas.

In her new role, Paine will provide strategic leadership and direction for Crown Center, an 85-acre complex south of downtown Kansas City that includes hotel, residential, retail, office and entertainment properties. Crown Center is financed by Kansas City’s Hallmark Cards Inc. and attracts 6 million visitors each year.

Hallmark CEO Don Hall said in a statement that Lucas’ “strong leadership has continued to transform Crown Center, making it a vibrant part of downtown Kansas City and one of the region’s premier family entertainment destinations.”
