Ralcorp could be sold in $2.7 billion deal

St. Louis-based Ralcorp Holdings reportedly is in advanced talks to be acquired by TreeHouse Foods Inc. in a deal that could be worth as much as $2.7 billion.

Ralcorp, a private label food maker, was acquired by Omaha-based ConAgra in 2013 for $5.1 billion.

ConAgra is working to finalize a deal with TreeHouse, but there is no certainty that an agreement will be reached. If the deal doesn’t go through, ConAgra may try to sell Ralcorp to a buyout firm.
