Karpel acquires University City IT consulting firm

Karpel Solutions, a St. Louis area software development company, has acquired University City-based CIO Services, an IT consultant for small businesses.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to double Karpel’s revenue in its managed services segment to more than $2 million, officials said.

Matt Ziemianski, CEO of Karpel, said the deal will add about a half-dozen employees to Karpel’s headcount, which now stands at about 50. All employees from the acquired business will move over to Karpel, Ziemianski said, except for Wendy Gauntt, CIO Services’ founder and owner.
