VIDEO: University of Missouri president, chancellor resign amid racial strife

Tim Wolfe, the president of the University of Missouri system, and R. Bowen Loftin, the chancellor of the University of Missouri’s flagship campus in Columbia, announced Monday that they will step down. The resignations come in response to student and staff calls for a leadership change.

Student activist group Concerned Student 1950 demanded Wolfe resign amid mounting criticism of his handling of incidents of racism on MU’s campus. The group also has called for more diversity among university faculty and staff and a more prominent voice in the governance of the university.
