MU School of Medicine calls for former dean’s reinstatement

Faculty affiliated with the University of Missouri School of Medicine are calling for the reinstatement of the school’s former dean, Dr. Patrice Delafontaine, who abruptly resigned in September after 10 months on the job.

In a letter sent to the University of Missouri System Board of Curators on Monday, the school’s Faculty Affairs Council said it had voted 17-0 in favor of bringing back Delafontaine.

Respondents said Delafontaine would have helped the standing of the medical school and University Hospital. Faculty have questioned the circumstances of the former dean’s resignation.
